I was born and raised in Monroe, Michigan before moving to Traverse City, Michigan after college. Traverse City is one of the most beautiful and desirable places to live I have ever seen. We were blessed to live there before moving west to Utah fifteen years ago. While in Michigan we raised our three girls Christine, Cindy and Julie. We all enjoyed the outdoors including sailing the Great Lakes, all water sports, camping and other activities common to active families. Now that we live in the west we enjoy some of the most powerfully beautiful, and sometimes dangerous, country in the world...that being the high mountains of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming and Utah. Out trusted Missouri Fox Trotter horses take us to some of the most amazing places one could ever imagine. We are grateful for our love of nature and adventure. We find nature very centering and quietly stimulating. Our daughter Christine now lives in the Seattle area and Julie lives in Palm Harbor, Florida. We lost our dear Cindy a month after high school graduation in a car accident. Some of you know the life long impact that has on ones life. Christine and Julie have given us 6 amazing grandchildren who are the joy of our lives. We are fully active as grandparents and take that responsibility seriously.
I married the woman I know was prepared especially for me and we enjoy an extraordinary marriage in all the best of ways. We are fully engaged in every aspect of life and will definitely leave this world with our boots on, having lived a full and adventurous life filled with challenge, opportunity and personal growth. Kathy works from home with a thriving complimentary health business. She is an remarkable woman loved by many and one who believes in giving and helping others at every opportunity. She is also a wild-eyed entrepreneur and has built an tremendous business from concept only. Quite a lady.
I have also taken the journey of entrepreneur and enjoyed a varied career path. I savor the fact that the education never ends, and sometimes when we get career "blood" all over ourselves, we learn best. I definitely have had lots of red stain marks and wouldn't trade a bit of it. At 27 I bought my first company and have been an employee only 2 years from then till now...31 years later. I truly believe that those who desire freedom and financial independence should step out of the middle lane of life and follow their star. I have been a real estate developer, owned a commercial equipment company, oil and gas exploration company and a finance company. I must tell you that for me the great American dream didn't turn out to be owning a traditional business. I was successful in every endeavor, but just had no life. My companies owned me. So, when the concept of Network Marketing "discovered me' , through a prior business partner, I realized after serious due diligence that this profession had everything I had sought in a career for years, but none of the massive downsides and risks I had lived with for so long.
Kathy and I went to work and proceeded to do everything wrong you could ever imagine...and then some. I kid you not. We were a wreck and didn't have any close support to teach and correct us. In our 11th full time month we got teachable, went into massive action and the rest is history. We have enjoyed a journey through this great profession that has changed our lives in so many ways - all good. We achieved our company's top rank of National Marketing Director and sat on the Presidents Advisory Council (top 10% of the NMDs) for 7 years before selling our business. I yearned to be back engaged in the industry after about a year long sabbatical. Something was just missing in my life. Over time I realized I deeply missed all the people associations and the opportunities to be a small catalyst in helping some good person's life get enhanced through our work. It was then that serendipity occurred and I "ran into" James Harrison, the CEO of INVISUS Direct. Having known each other for over 20 years back in Michigan, neither knew the other had moved to Utah, and we met in one of those one in a million situations. Nothing is an accident right? Little did I know that that day would change my life forever. I have been blessed to become the Founding Associate with INVISUS Direct and have unequivocally found my "last and best" career.
So folks, there is a thumbnail on my path through life. Hopefully this helps us get half acquainted. I hope the opportunity to get to know you presents itself so we're fully acquainted. Isn't it great to work in a profession based on the foundation of relationshipping.
